Culinary Arts

The Culinary Arts program of study introduces CTE learners to occupations and educational opportinities related to the planning, directing, or coordinating activities of a food and beverage organization or department. This program of study also explores opportunities involved in directing and participating in the preparation and cooking of food.

Culinary Arts Instructor:

Laurie Stephens has been a Family Consumer Science and Culinary Arts teacher for 9 years at Poteet High School. 

She graduated from Southside High School in 1973. She earned a Bachelor's degree from Texas A & M Kingsville with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. 

After working for 30+ years in the field of Interior Design she returned to school for a teaching certification in Family Consumer Science.
